Fairmont Jakarta brings springtime to Jakarta with the Sakura themed Afternoon Tea experience to celebrate Japan’s cherry blossom seasons at the elegant Peacock Lounge.
Available from 3 April to 15 May 2023, this unique experience is perfect for a chic celebration or a light repast with friends.
In Japan, the custom of appreciating cherry blossoms is called Hanami, which the Japanese celebrates every year. Families and co-workers meet for leisurely feasts under blossoming trees and enjoy the beauty of sakura flowers that bloom for a few weeks in the year.
The afternoon tea affair celebrates the spirit of Hanami with a delightful burst of color and flavor.
Set in airy and elegant surroundings, guests can delight in the repertoire of gorgeous sweet creations delicately crafted in the colors of spring – cherry pink, green leaf, and touches of sunshine yellow. Some delightful creations include Sakura Choux Bombe, a tempting mouthful of banana sakura diplomat with cream cheese mousseline topped with gold leaf.
The Sakura Frangipane is a fun combination of almond frangipane with white chocolate Chantilly, while the Sakura Lychee Ball offers a soft, sumptuous ode to the season. The Cherry Choux combines crisp choux pastry balls filled with cherry cremeux and the divinely fruity Cherry gelee, sure to win every
dessert lover’s heart.
The savory lineup includes the rich Salmon Lollypop, Wagyu Beef Slider in a pink bun, and Beetroot Mousse Tartlet with beetroot crème cheese, asparagus, and cuka wakame, which goes well with the Sakura-flavoured tea by TWG. Also on the menu are teatime classics such as open sandwiches, Madeline, and light-as-air Sconces.
